Dear Friends and Neighbors, As you may have heard, there is special election in Arlington on Tuesday, June 7th to vote on an override. The override funds a three-year plan that protects town and school services and stabilizes our town’s budget. If it fails, the town will have to make deep cuts in school and town services to address a $4 million deficit. The override campaign is going strong, but we need every vote to ensure the override passes. I urge you to visit http://www.yesforarlington.org to learn more about town services affected, find answers to frequently asked questions about the override and town finances, and get counted as a supporter. The selectmen have committed to not asking for another override for three years if this passes, as well as a disciplined spending plan to contain our costs. They believe the town needs this override, and so do I. I hope you will join me to help make sure Arlington remains a great place to live.
